Mawlana Shaykh Hisyam's Greetings for Ramadhan

Selamat Menunaikan Ibadah Puasa

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you as it was decreed for those before you; perchance you will guard yourselves.
...
The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down, a guidance for the people, and clear verses of guidance and criterion. [Quran: Suratu 'l-Baqara, 2:183]

as-salaam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuh,

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani says:

The Prophet (s) gave good tidings about this holy month saying: The first ten days of Ramadan are mercy for all people; the second ten days are the forgiveness of Allah, Almighty, and the last one-third is freedom from Hell.

This month gives so much pleasure to us, through our increased obedience and worship of Allah Almighty. These two are the source of all true happiness--obedienc e and worship. For that reason the Prophet (s) "and the coolness of my eyes is in prayer - salaat".

Our Beloved Prophet said, "Allah said: The Fast is for Me and I will give the reward for it, as the one who observes the fast leaves his desire, his food and his drink for My Sake. Fasting is a shield (from the Fire). There are two pleasures for a fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time of meeting his Lord. And the smell of the mouth of a fasting person is better in Allah's Sight than the smell of musk."

The Prophet also said: "If Allah's servants knew what Ramadan was, they would have wished it lasted for the whole year."

On behalf of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim we send our warmest greetings to everyone, welcoming this blessed month of Ramadan and asking Allah to bless the community during this holy month and to open the gates of Paradise wide for Ummat an-Nabi, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is praying for the best for this blessed month for every mureed, every muhibb and every believer.

With sincere regards,

Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani
